A new kind of retreat

What is a longevity retreat?

Where beauty meets real medical knowledge.

The word wellness has been used so often it has almost stopped meaning anything. A longevity retreat is something more precise, and something quite new: a small number of days spent learning how the body ages, and what practising doctors and specialists explain about it.

What usually happens during one

A longevity retreat is built around a few clear themes.

Measurement. Understanding your body composition, your skin, your energy and your sleep, so you begin from facts rather than guesswork.

Nutrition. Not dieting, but learning how food and micronutrients translate into energy and long-term health.

Movement. Building strength, mobility and posture, the true foundations of ageing well.

Skin and hormones. The changes that begin quietly after thirty-five, explained by doctors rather than left to worry.

Rest. Because sleep is where longevity is built.

These are the five pillars around which every Maison Longevity edition is built.

Perimenopause, and why it belongs here

Between thirty-five and fifty-five, hormonal balance shifts. It moves through sleep, mood, energy, muscle and skin, and most women are never offered a conversation about it that is neither dramatic nor dismissive.

On a longevity retreat, perimenopause is not the subject. It is one of the fields covered, alongside nutrition, movement and skin, and it is explained by a doctor who specialises in hormonal health. What changes, why it happens, and how to move through it with knowledge rather than worry.

Where the idea comes from

Longevity has become one of the most serious fields in modern medicine. Not the pursuit of living forever, but the science of living well for longer: protecting your energy, your muscle, your skin, your sleep and your hormones, so that the decades ahead are lived in strength.

Most of this knowledge stays inside clinics and research papers. A longevity retreat brings it out, into a beautiful place, over a few unhurried days, in language you can actually use.

What you leave with

A longevity retreat is built around understanding, not rest alone. You sit with practising doctors who explain what is happening inside your body. You receive an honest assessment of where you actually stand. You leave knowing what to measure, what to change, and why.

Who they are for

Longevity retreats speak to women who have looked after everyone else, who feel their body beginning to change, and who are ready to understand it properly, and to be looked after in return. Not because anything is wrong, but because what you learn early is what you can still act on.

A new standard

This is the idea behind Maison Longevity: a four-night retreat for seven to ten women in a contemporary villa on Mont Boron, above Nice, where a faculty of doctors and specialists turns the science of ageing well into something you can see, feel and take home. The programme runs from Wednesday afternoon to midday on Sunday.

Ageing well is not luck. It is knowledge. And it can be taught.
